GTD for Teams

If you’re interested in implementing GTD for a whole team then the most popular, tried and trusted format is a 2-day live Level 1 Fundamentals course.

On the first day we introduce the theory and best practices of GTD, and begin to put them to use so your people can gain greater clarity and control of their work.

On the morning of the second day the team will design, implement, and learn best practices for using a GTD system based in their technical toolset (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, mobile devices, etc.).

The afternoon of the 2nd day is then supported practice time, where the delegates have the chance to use their new system to get control of their email inbox, to define projects and to ensure that their calendar and other system elements are providing optimal support, all with at-elbow 1-to-1 coaching support.

The problems that a Level 1 course can help you start to tackle include;

  • Individual productivity being affected by stress and overwhelm

  • Insufficient focus on strategic things. Always “busy”, but not as effective as they’d like to be.

  • Too much time spent reacting or “fire-fighting.” Not enough focus on the truly important

  • Ineffective meetings, without clear goals and follow-up accountabilities

  • Workflow bottlenecks due to lack of clarity about actions

  • Ineffective delegation; e.g. managers doing things that they should be delegating

  • Ineffective follow-up: too little, too late, or too often

  • Lack of thinking time

  • Unhealthy or unsustainable work-life balance

  • Inability to “shut off” after work and on weekends

Level 1 of the GTD methodology provides a solid foundation and brings huge benefits by itself and after that we often work with clients over time to also deliver subsequent more advanced modules at Level 2 and Level 3 of the GTD methodology for those who are interested in delving into the more strategic elements.
